Abstract
A critical aspect of the 3D electromechanical analysis of rotating machinery is the treatment of motion. A powerful technique which can take advantage of the numerical characteristics of integral formulation is proposed. The motion can be “naturally” modelled because no mesh in the free space and, consequently, in the air gap is needed. In order to highlight the effectiveness and the general validity of the approach, the paper discusses a numerical example on the calculation of the Lorentz force waveforms in the armature end winding of a large turbine generator.File in questo prodotto:
